We are deeply saddened by the passing of Simon N. Groot, one of PNBC’s founding fathers, former Advisory Council member and father of our board member Maaike Groot. By introducing vegetable seeds specifically adapted to local circumstances, he contributed to poverty alleviation in Asia and Africa. His work started in the Philippines and expanded far beyond. His legacy lives on through East West Seed, the family company. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
